5 days in London ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

I was expecting to enjoy London but, you know, the same way that you like big Cities. But, for some reasons,ย it seems that the British Capitale has made it to my heart.

The Story โ€”ย 5 Days in London

So, if you follow me on Social Media (and especially on Instagram), you probably know that I was in London for some days last week. As many people have been asking me : why is that ? Why was I in London ? First thing : it is nor work, nor blog or anything related.ย I have been wanting to visit the City for years now, but for some reasons I always postponed.

To be honest I also really needed a break from work, stress and the typical “Parisian life”.

Birdcage Walk, Saint James Park, United Kingdom
You probably won’t believe me, but a squirrel literally climbed on me in this Park.

From the weather (that was way more lenient that I expected) to the people and the culture of the city, I really liked this first stay in London. Also, I absolutely love the english language so it was really interesting to actually get to speak it in front on native people and hear them answering me. Let’s say it was basically cool just being in an english atmosphere.

I’m as much a lover of the City as the Countryside. London like Paris and every metropolis is very polluted (ambient pollution), very populated hence very stressful but, this time it didn’t matter.ย  I found it gorgeous and I fell in love with the British Capitale โค๏ธ. Am I a Londoner already? โœจ

The London Eye, London, United Kingdom
Trust me, when you are on top of The London Eye, you feel like on top of the World.

Things i would suggest in londonย

Planning to visit London soon too ? Well, here are some ideas I could throw in your bucket list…

Place to go to

  • Camden.ย It seems like the whole world suggested me to go visit Camden and I did. Well … kinda. It was actually the last day and I didn’t have that much time left so I went there, visited some stores and markets, bought some stuffs then left. But if you have more time than me, I definitely advise you to go there!
  • Oxford Street. Almost like our typical Champs Elysรฉes or rather our Parisians Grands Boulevards, the Oxford Street is a huge and gorgeous commercial Street located in the heart of London. Since I went there in mid-november I was amaze by the beauty of the street and its Christmas lights. Oh, and in this street you’ll find the famous “Harry Potter themed Primark” everyone have been talking about these past weeks (as a matter of facts it’s not that crazy but anyway).
  • Forbidden Planet Store.ย Not that far from Oxford Street, you’ll find a direct portal to Heaven.ย  Just kidding (well, kinda).ย  I went to this store recommended to me by Clara from The Book Worm of Notre Dame and I absolutely adored it. Basically if you like any universe from Harry Potter to Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Marvel, DC, etc., you will be at home ๐Ÿคฉ. I didn’t buy that much stuffs but I sincerely spent hours in this store.
  • Jamie’s Italian Restaurant : One of the first place I went to in the capital on a recommendation from my host/friend and I adored it. Lovely place to eat and delicious food. Especially the desserts!

Things to do

  • The London Eye. Quite expensive I will confess (ยฃ26), but definitely worth it! From the London Eye you can see the City … from the sky. It’s really impressive so yeah, I definitely recommend it.
  • Eat Fish&Chips. Fat, a bit queasy, but unavoidable, I named : Fish&Chips. You can’t go to London and not taste it. It would be like going to Canada without tasting a Putin or Beavertails.
  • Eat an actual English Breakfast. Pretty much the same description as the Fish&Chips. It could be a bit strange to taste in the morning if you’re coming from another Culture but you definitely should try it out anyway!

Things to see

Those might be obvious choices, but those are some places I think you should definitely see :

  • Westminster Palace / Big Ben :
  • Buckingham Palace :
  • St James Park
  • The London Bridge

That’s it for my journey in London. But, what about you : what’s the last town (or country) you discovered ?

Oh, and don’t worry London, it’s only Goodbye. I definitely intend to come back, ASAP.

      • Hey Disa! I'm glad you liked that post and that it could be useful to you or to your colleagues when they go to London. I really loved that City and I can't wait to go back! ๐Ÿ™Œ

    1. Gorgeous pictures <3 And I'm so glad to hear you had such a great time in London. I went there for the first time about.. maybe 10 years ago or something and I remember falling in love with it. Since then, I've been traveling a lot and always finding excuses to try and go back there whenever I can go to England haha, I just love it so, so much <3 Oxford Street is definitely a must, even if it can get quite stressful, with the amount of people there, haha :) and I love Camden. I also love the Borough Market (FOOD. I love food haha) and Primrose Hill <3

      • Thank youuuuu! โค๏ธ I couldn't explain what there is about London and England but ... it's just lovely! I completely picture myself finding excuses to go back already ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ Oxford Street is really pretty! Even though it's really busy ... I think it's more "cozy" than the Champs Elysรฉes or Grands Boulevard in Paris. Next time i need to visit Borough Market and Primrose Hill, duly noted! (ALSO FOOD ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคคhahaha)

        • You'll be back before you know it, if you're anything like me ๐Ÿ˜‚ There is always more to explore there and you can go a thousand times and always find different places and things to do. That's what's amazing about this place :) I so agree with you on that - Paris never had that cozy feeling for me, though, anywhere in the city... ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I have to agree that Oxford Street and the city as a whole feels... I don't know, cozy, for me :) YAY, I can't wait for you to go back now :P

          • hahaha, that's what I love that much about travelling. It's endless ๐Ÿ’› And yeah, I love Paris ... because well, the city is just splendid but yeah but I always feel stressed and I actually hate going there (does that make sense? ๐Ÿ˜‚). London was nothing like that! Not only did I feel cozy but I loved being able to genuinely speak orally in english with people for once hahaha. I'll definitely tell you when I'm going back ๐Ÿค˜

            • Yes, so many places to explore,I love it <3 Do you already have a next destination in mind? :) Ahahah, it does make a lot of sense. It is a beautiful city, but aside from the beautiful buildings and monuments, I just... don't like it and the atmosphere overall ๐Ÿ˜‚ Oh yes please do, maybe I'll have some other tips to give you about London, or maybe you could just fit me in your suitcase ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

            • I do! I'm planning to visit South Spain this fall if possible and a friend invited me to Strasbourg sometimes in the next few months! Also I'm planning my summer trip ๐Ÿ™ˆWhat about you? ๐Ÿ˜Š Yeah, that's the point about Paris. It's magnificent ! That's for sure. But, it lacks maybe? I don't know... As long as you fit in the suitcase, I'm taking you! hahaha ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

            • Oh that's amazing! AND YES STRASBOURG. Sorry ahah, I need to praise my almost-home :P I hope you'll love it there :) Going to Paris this weekend, after that.. I guess I will see, but I can't wait to plan more trips to come, that always makes me happy :D Duly noted... I'll try and learn how to get as small as minimoys or something ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
